How many times have you said that in the middle of a dinner, a meeting or a conversation.
Often many of us are good at making lists, but we still leave out important items that need our attention.
Whether it is at home or at work or in simply planning a party, we make the list of random items that need to be done.
Sometimes the thing we forget is not a huge deal. In other cases it can threaten the success of a project, grocery trip or party. Even someone’s life.
Mind mapping is a proven tool for getting everything in your head down on paper where it can be recorded and done.
The core is finding the elements of any activity and then working to brainstorm all of the subparts of that.
We’re having a party. We need dishes (element). What types of dishes to we want? Paper plates, good china? Paper cups, Fine wine glasses, Napkins—paper or cloth. Wait, we need something to put those dishes on! We can nadd a tablecloth to this element, but we need to know what tables we need (if any). That doesn’t really fall under the elements of what goes on the table, and so we need to start a new element: tables & chairs.
